WVC Covid Guidelines

Fall/Winter 2021

August 24, 2021

Dear Singers,

Regarding COVID measures at rehearsals: We will not ask for vaccination ID, but will ask if you are fully vaccinated and know you will answer honestly for all our safety. We will follow the protocol guidelines set by the CDC, State, County and the Warwick Reformed Church.

Whenever possible, we will try to hold separate sectional (S, A, T, B) rehearsals to reduce the number of singers in one space.

If you have been fully vaccinated at least two weeks prior to our season, that’s GREAT. We still request that you wear a mask (a paper one is easiest to sing through). Please sit a reasonable distance from the singers at either side of you, six feet if possible, and leave an empty pew between your row and the row in front of / behind you. If our conductor, Dennis English, needs to move you for acoustic or safety reasons, please move quickly and quietly so we don’t lose too many rehearsal minutes.

If you have not been fully vaccinated, please be sure to wear a mask entering, leaving and at all other times, sit behind the last row of vaccinated singers, leaving two empty rows in front of you, and distance yourself at least six feet from the singers on either side of you. If there is a valid medical reason why you can’t be vaccinated or can’t wear a mask, please let me know.

We will have extra masks available for those who need them.

If you feel unwell or notice symptoms that might be COVID, please stay home from rehearsal that evening. As we get the season going, we will have SATB rehearsal tracks available online and on CD, so you can practice at home. Our bylaws specify that singers may not miss more than three rehearsals per season without a valid excuse, but this season we will allow you to use your own judgment as to what’s safe and responsible.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
