These are the times that you need to be at the venues and ready to line up and tune up for the concert:

Friday, Dec 9, 6:00 pm at Grace Episcopal Church.

Sunday, Dec 11, 2:00 pm at St. Stephen RC Church.

As you might imagine, COVID protocols continue to be a challenge. At this point, we are requesting that you please be considerate of others and wear a mask during rehearsals. Please allow for "social distancing" while sitting in the pews. That policy may change as the season progresses.

Stay tuned here and to WVC's FaceBook page for more information.

What should we wear for the Winter concerts?

Men’s dress for our Winter concerts is black tuxedo or black sport jacket and slacks with white shirt (black bow tie, black socks & shoes; jackets should be buttoned).

For women, a floor- length black dress or floor-length black skirt and long-sleeved blouse; black stockings, comfortable black shoes, no eye- catching jewelry or anything else that would draw the audience’s attention to you.

Music goes into your black music folder.

Is it okay to wear cologne to the performances?

Please, no! We have members with a variety of allergies, so please don’t wear cologne, perfume, strong aftershave, scented hairspray, or anything else that might make a singer standing/sitting near you wheeze or sneeze. Deodorant, however, is recommended.

More fun for WVC carolers. Thank you Gail Johnson for making these arrangements:

Saturday, December 3, 2022 - 11:00 - 1:00

Old Lumberyard Shops, 115 7th Street, Milford, PA 18337

Part of "Light Up Milford," a town-wide event.

We will sing outdoors in the Old Lumberyard Shops courtyard from 11:00 - 11:45, then take a break at John's of Arthur Avenue, where we will be treated to pizza, then sing another set outdoors.

Gail reports that we will be singing under a tent, so this event is on rain or shine!

Saturday, December 10, 2022 - 1:00 - 2:00

Annual caroling at Sugar Loaf.

Meet at Sugar Loaf United Methodist Church, 1387 Kings Highway, Sugar Loaf, NY 10981

We will walk around the town, caroling in many of the shops, and perhaps take a ride in the horse-drawn carriage.

For both of these events, dress in weather-appropriate clothing, with as much festive red and green as possible.

Caroling in Warwick: Home for the Holidays, Sunday, Nov. 20th.

The chilly air didn't stop these WVC carollers from warming the hearts of

our Warwick friends with festive songs of the season.

A Look Back at WVC's Spring &

Summer 2022 Season

WVC at Hudson River Renegades

Take me out to the ball game: August 28, 2022. WVC members sang our national anthem and God Bless America at Dutchess Stadium, Wappinger Falls, NY, before and at the 7th inning stretch of a baseball game of the Hudson Valley Renegades.

Visits to local nursing homes and retirement centers.

On July 12th and 19th, about a dozen members of the Warwick Valley Chorale visited six area nursing homes and retirement centers. Led by conductor, Dennis English, and accompanied by Gail Johnson, the WVC group performed the following program at each of the facilities:

The Star-Spangled Banner

Give My Regards to Broadway

Nelly Bly

Over the Rainbow

Oh! Susanna

Irving Berlin's America - entire medley, including God Bless America

There were many expressions of appreciation from the residents and staff for the show - being the first time since the start of the Covid pandemic that an outside group had entertained them.

Two of our favorite Gwyneth Walker songs:

Email from President Zoey Savale, Dec. 13, 2021:

"Hi everyone - What a couple of splendid concerts! I love watching our members all pull together (on stage and off) to make music. There were quite literally so many individual members who did extra work that I don't have room to mention them all here... but please know that each of you was noticed, and deeply appreciated, for all those extra tasks that you did so well, and for your beautiful voices. Amazing!"

Note from Accompanist Gail Johnson, Dec 13, 2021:

"Dear WVC Members,

You were wonderful last night! It's great to be able to SEE you! I always have a front row seat to HEAR you, but have never had the pleasure to watch you until now!

I also want to thank you for the gifts presented to me after the concert; the gorgeous Peace Lily, the stunning wooden serving platter, the festive bottle of wine, the two precious snowflake ornaments (Silent Snowfall!), and the generous gift certificate to Delancey's Restaurant.

I truly miss our Summer Soirees and whole-heartedly hope we can get together this year!

Wishing you all a Joyful Holiday Season!

One of WVC's favorite composers, John Rutter, on "the Importance of Choir"

The WVC has performed many of Mr. Rutter's works in our concerts in Orange County. Also many members of the WVC were privileged to have been conducted by John Rutter at Carnegie Hall in 2006.

To celebrate their 75th anniversary, the WVC commissioned America's favorite composer, Gwyneth Walker, for this arrangement of Down to the River to Pray, which was premiered at their December 2015 concerts.

We practiced and made it back - May 2010, May 2016, April 2018, and June 2019!
